Image
20121231 Arr New Years Eve what do we do stay at Allora or move on to a new spot Shane & Carolyn decided to move on so we might as well go to so after a lovely breaky which I made we packed up and left.  We drove to Maryvale now that could be a place to party tonight but no, we drove on to a quite park with no one to party with, so it looks like it's Des & I.  We made preens & salad then it was time for some serious drinking. This is where we should have partied. Surprisingly we had a great night playing our iPod music and singing in this quite reserve.   Fassifern Reserveal There's a guy parked up near the loo it looks like he had a good night on his own also there's Beer cans all over the ground around his car. Des can't drive because he drank too much & blu 0.8 at 8.30am it's now 10.55am & he's 0.4 so were stuck in this lovely reserve for a bit longer.   Happy New Year

20111228 Qld Fordsdale in the Lockyer Valley

20111228 The next morning Des finished packing said our goodbyes while I went for a push bike ride, I needed some exercise after all that drinking, he picked me up on the way.  We decided to check out Ma Ma Creek which was after Grantham, but we missed the Gatton turn off, so we had to head to Helidon & turn off to head back to Grantham only about 21ks out of our way.  We found Ma Ma Creek but couldn't find anywhere to camp up, so we kept on driving when we spotted a Rest Stop and pulled in to check it out, this is a great place along a creek, so we decided to stay.  I got out and was guiding Des when a dog ran at me & I took the bolt but lucky for me it was on a lead, a blood long lead, boy didn't I shit me self. A friendly camper came over to inform us of the Ferrel's campers with 4 dogs 5 cars 2 caravans & a Van who had been squatting for about 3 months and were quite loud at night, so we moved to the other side we meet some lovely people once again.

20111228 Qld Lake Somerset

20111228 Drove to Scarborough to check out a bike and trailer a Yamaha 225cc, 2008 model with carrier for the back of the Winnebago, Des tried to screw him down $750 but could only get him down $250 but it was still a good by with only 2150ks, so we now have our bike for the big trip Yee Haa.  Arrived at Somerset but couldn't find any rest areas to stay in so we had to camp in the grounds which was OK, but we prefer camping in different places near creeks where you don't have to pay.  We meet some nice people with a great fire, so we ended up having a few drinks and laughs with them.  Talk about a small world it turns out one of the guys is related to Darel Islem a friend of ours from Straddie. Sunset at Somerset

20111208 Qld Rooster & Karen Gleenwood

Image
20111208 We arrived about 6.15pm & was greeted with a very warm welcome Rooster & Karen checked out the Winnebago & gave us shit then it was his turn to show off his bike he's building (what a weapon).  The tank is shaped like a coffin the seat is a shovel which he's going to put push bike springs on, the gears are on the LHS & are hand operated Des said there called suicide shifts, as for the rest I'm lost all I can say is he can stick that seat. We all had a great night with many drinks lots of laughs Karen made Spaghetti Bol & Rooster kept us entertained by sing & playing the piano, I had no idea he was that good.  The boys went to bed & Karen & I stayed up a bit later downed a few more drinks before we crashed.  20111209 We decided to leave after a quick cupper tea & Des made us salad rolls for the trip home when we heard a voice from the house that bloody Rooster took a sickie & it was Karen who stayed up drinking the

05122011 Qld Hervey Bay

Image
20111205 Where will we go now, there's so much to choose from what about Hervey Bay to see Margie & Boko in their new home.  Shit we are nearly out of petrol need to find a petrol station real quick thank god for my trusty Nav & we made it with a very small amount of fuel left, silly Des He won't do that again.  We arrived late in the afternoon & all I can say is thank god for my Nav I don't think we would ever have found their place without it.  Margie arrived home from work; we organized dinner & Jack was turning up around 7.00pm.  Lovely food, a couple of bottles of wine for Margie & I beer for the boys all put together makes for a great night with lots of laughs.  06122012 We had a lazy day the weather has been shit raining nonstop what a bummer as Boko was going to take us out in his boat.  Boko & Des went to town I stayed home & worked on my Blog & watched a movie when Margie got home from work & we started again had another great

20111203 On the road again Des wont's to see 1770 so that's our next stop, arrived late in the afternoon & drove around but it wasn't what he expected there was nowhere to stay all the parks were booked out or didn't accommodate for big rigs, we were going to stay in a parking lot but I didn't like that idea so we ended up finding a caravan park outside of town & stayed the night there at least we had power & hot showers.  No drinking tonight Des was in bed by 8.00pm so I sat up & played with my blog.  20111204 The next morning after breaky we left 1770 great beaches but to touristy.  Driving along we say a sign Baffle Creek & remembered we had a friend that lived there (Dicko) but didn't know where he lived so we stopped at a real estate agent & asked him, believe it or not he knew him but unfortunately, he had moved to Rocky.  We found a great park on the creek where a couple were fishing so we had a chat with them & decided to sta

20111201 Qld Dawson River

Image
20111201 We stopped at Rolleston Des like to check out the pubs in some towns even though he can't drink so I do it for him. We had a quick stroll through the town which didn't take long at all took some photos & on our way again this time on to Dawson River just before Moura. We arrived in Moura looked around tried to by a wine glass as I broke mine & couldn't find one anywhere, I even asked the pub if they might sell me one but had no luck so looks like I have to drink out of a normal glass.  Another boring town so we went back 6ks & camped in a park on the river, what a great spot.    Because we played up the night before we had a quite night & were in bed by 9.00pm. This was such a great location we ended up staying 2 days, I even got Des in the river for a swim even thow he recons the water was freezing which it wasn't.  We had a great day lazing around swimming & reading my book but I think Des is starved for some male
