20240222 Japan, Pokemon Square, Akihabara

20240222 Our trip in Japan has come to an end as we complete our final packing before heading down town to check out the famous  Pokémon  Square, and yes, another bloody train trip as we cram in like sardines, I'm really surprised we haven't caught covid. The boys had a great time learning to Snowboard and it was bad luck Ash was sick through most of it but thankfully Grandma was their to wipe his brow, in between my day trips when I would receive a call from Ash, are you coming home Grandma, thats my big kill joy of a grandson for ya, but we love him.  Crammed into the train on our way to Pokémon Square, this was good compared to the other times. 20240221 Takeshita Street, Harajuku's Tokyo

20240221 Today we take another train ride into the town of Harajuku's to check out the famous Takeshita Street where i n 1978, the fashion building Laforet Harajuku was opened and came to be known as a fashion and retail centre. In the 1980s, Takeshita Street became known for teenage street dancing groups called takenoko-zoku, so from 1977, a Sundays-only pedestrian precinct was established by closing local roads. It's also known for wacky, youth-driven shops selling colourful and crazy clothes and accessories but it's also a paradise for sweets-lovers. Sharyn, Hamish and Owen as we are leaving our unit and heading to Takeshita Street but first we have to walk to the train station and push our way through the thousands of people. 20240219 Tokyo, Disneyland

20240219 From early December the town of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps has an   Aussie invasion, as many Australians take the advantage of not just a ski holiday but a working holiday, the first wave coming to work in the hotels, bars, restaurants and on the slopes, some are also ski and snowboarder instructors. It's time to say goodbuy to Hakuba as we rise from our beds and complete our final packing and wait for our bus to pick us up for our journey back to Toyoko where we have a unit awaiting our arrival.  20240220 All excited as we head off down the road to the train station to take us to Disneyland Tokyo, a 115-acre theme park at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, near Tokyo.
