20190907 We need to escape this wind and with the fires in the hinterland out of control we’ve decided to cut out trip short and head home, stopping at Toowoomba to spend a night with Glen and Ingrid, to our delight Tony, who I haven’t seen in years and his girlfriend Annette were there, let the party begin. The night begins by sitting around a pot belly fire with black smoke bellowing from the chimney, what is that wood your burning Glen as we pass a piece smelling it to try and work out what it was. As the night rolls on the laughs begin and I cut Des out of the photo, she always cuts me out says Des.  I think  their laughing about our hands covered in some sort of oil after smelling the wood, what the hell is this wood. Smile for the blog guys. 08-09-2019 OMG, we all woke with black oily soot all through our hair and over our face not to mention, all through the house, it took me three shampoo’s to get it out of my hair, what was the bloody wood Glenn. 20190902 We were heading to St George when we spotted a huge dam that look like it could be home to lots of yabbies, will we turn around say’s Des, well I can’t believe you drove past, so back we go. Sitting in the van blogging and watching all the locals drop in for a bit of refreshments.   He’s happy when catching yabbies especially if their big.  There’s heaps of wood so why not have a fire as I head off into the shrub wary of those bloody king browns. Here we are sitting in the middle of nowhere, not a sole in sight except the stars slowly filling the sky and the occasional shooting star, even the birds are asleep and the only sound are the trucks heading our way in the distance, then they pass all lit up like a Christmas tree, now this is living. 03-09-2019 We had a great night sitting around the fire listening to our music and we didn’t even try to kill each other, what a nice change. To fill in some time we take a walk up the road and found a town, well!

2019094 This is our third time in St George so there’s no boring history this time, after restocking our supplies we stopped at Jack Taylor Weir park for lunch and stroll around the park only this bloody magpie had it in for me and kept swooping me, but not Des he wondered the park with not one swoop. This life size Groper stands in the park near the Weir and is made up of many discarded tools, bearings, hooks, horseshoes and much more.   On our way to Thallon but first we drop into the Nindigully Pub to see if it’s changed since our last time here and yes, there are now more amenities and a new walking path around the grounds and this wood carving standing in the pub grounds. After parking up I grabbed my camera for a photo shoot of the town but first I check out the silos, built in the 1970s and now are one of the largest grain delivery sites in the country, in 2016 they processed 29,000 tonnes of grain. Then on the other side is this mural Titled, The Watering Hole, dev
