20121130   On our way to Darlington Point Caravan Park to camp on the Murrumbidgee River for the night.  We walked to the town center which is not far only once there I went to take a photo and found I had taken the battery out to recharge it but hadn't replaced it, I know just what you're thinking Nick.  01-12-2012  I did manage to get Des to Stop when leaving. We camped up and walked around this is quite a nice spot, the water is very clear, but the current is strong so no swimming for me. Historical Bridge-These towers were part of the Bascule Bridge erected in 1905 at Darlington Point, an important crossing on the Murrumbidgee River. The lifting bridge from the paddle steamer era served the public well until it was replaced in 1979. In 1989 the towers were re-erected on this site by the Darlington Point historical society. Punt Hotel 1925 Des and I stopped for a beer and checked out the flood ravaged pictures of the town that went under water in March this year

20121128 Lake Wyangon-Griffith

20121128 After leaving Hillston we heading to Lake Wyangan just before Griffith to camp up for the night, let hope it's a bit cooler on the lake. It's bloody hot so to cool down we go for a paddle in the lake, unfortunately I still can't swim after my op and as for Des he doesn't swim anyway so just paddling was enough to cool us down then a nice cold shower to top it off. All refreshed and ready for a few drinks, we found some campers to drink with had a good chat and had a lesson on how to use our compos. 20121129 There was lovely cool breeze all night and we sleep like a log, I'm sure the drinks also helped. After our chores we packed up, washed the van then had a nice long cold refreshing shower before heading into Griffith. John Oxley explored the district in 1817 and was unimpressed with the light red sand parched with drought, a perfect level plain overrun with acacia scrub …there is a uniformity of barren desolation of this country which wearies one more

20121123 We hit the road heading to Texas along the Cunningham Hwy crossing over the Great Dividing Range and chugging to the top, which could have something to do with the 160kg of beer and wine we carry and hopping it’s enough.   Arriving at Ross and Heather in Texas we camped up then Heather was telling me of their trip to WA so, out came my notebook and Camp 6 to record all of the highlights and camp spots to look out for.   Heather invited us for tea, and we had the best silver side, it just melted in your mouth, we had a lovely dinner followed by a long chat over a few drinks before hitting the sack. 20121124 After a shower and a last chat we said our goodbyes heading for Rocky Creek to camp for the night, no creek so we went in search of Paleroo Rest Stop, which we also couldn't find, stopping at Warialda for lunch when I saw a Nature walk only Des didn't won't to do it in the midday sun.  Warialda is a historical town in a rich farming district located on War
