20240219 Tokyo, Disneyland

20240219 From early December the town of Hakuba, in the Japanese Alps has an Aussie invasion, as many Australians take the advantage of not just a ski holiday but a working holiday, the first wave coming to work in the hotels, bars, restaurants and on the slopes, some are also ski and snowboarder instructors. It's time to say goodbuy to Hakuba as we rise from our beds and complete our final packing and wait for our bus to pick us up for our journey back to Toyoko where we have a unit awaiting our arrival.

20240220 All excited as we head off down the road to the train station to take us to Disneyland Tokyo, a 115-acre theme park at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, near Tokyo. Its main gate is directly adjacent to both Maihama Station and Tokyo Disneyland Station. It was the first Disney Park to be built outside the United States and it opened on April 15, 1983.

There thay go trying to get in front of the thousands of people swarming towards the entrance.

I have the feeling it's going to be a bit of a wait, thank god Sharyn brought the tickets on line.

This is just some of the charictors displayed around the park

Who remembers Dumbo the Elephant an elephant who is cruelly nicknamed "Dumbo", as in "dumb". He is ridiculed for his big ears, but in fact he's capable of flying by using his ears as wings.

The theme park has many interesting buildings that take you back to the grand old style of the early 20th century.

The Japanese are big on sweets and this is just one of the many sweet stalls that monopolise the park.

You will see many of the girls dress up in the same costume like this, I thought they were school girls but the tartan school looking outfits are very common.

One of the many feature as we stroll the grounds.

Now that's what I call a cool tree house, the attraction is centred on a large treehouse based on the 1960 Disney film Swiss Family Robinson.

Based on Cinderella's fairy tale castle from Disney's 1950 animated feature film.

This is just one of the Guests room in the world of the Disney film Cinderella, the blue interior of this room calls to mind the gown Cinderella wore to the ball where Prince Charming was waiting.

The Haunted Mansion is set in a gothic style and is haunted by 999 ghosts, goblins, and ghouls who are all "dying" to make their number an even 1,000. There's statue with glowing eyes and invisible hands are playing strange music on the piano. Now, who's that sitting next to you?

A bit blurred but the photo give you the idea of the creatures that lurk in the house.

The effects are well done as this spider lights your way as we wind through the House of Horror's.

Be aware of the ghostly inhabitants that lurk nearby.

Ash and Hamish waiting for Mum outside the loo, although Hamish looks like he's ready to deck Somone.

This is the story of trickster Brier Rabbit, who outwits Brier Fox and slow-witted Brier Bear.

Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall is a counter service, buffeteria-style restaurant and trust me the queue is hour's long as are most of the food outlets here.

Alice's Tea Party Ride

There is so much to see and do at the park that one day just dosn't cut is especially with the thousands of people that swarm through the gates.
