20111208 Qld Rooster & Karen Gleenwood

20111208 We arrived about 6.15pm & was greeted with a very warm welcome Rooster & Karen checked out the Winnebago & gave us shit then it was his turn to show off his bike he's building (what a weapon).  The tank is shaped like a coffin the seat is a shovel which he's going to put push bike springs on, the gears are on the LHS & are hand operated Des said there called suicide shifts, as for the rest I'm lost all I can say is he can stick that seat.



We all had a great night with many drinks lots of laughs Karen made Spaghetti Bol & Rooster kept us entertained by sing & playing the piano, I had no idea he was that good.  The boys went to bed & Karen & I stayed up a bit later downed a few more drinks before we crashed. 

20111209 We decided to leave after a quick cupper tea & Des made us salad rolls for the trip home when we heard a voice from the house that bloody Rooster took a sickie & it was Karen who stayed up drinking the big woos.  We went for a walk around his propriety with the dogs in toe, when he mentions they are having a party for Karen's birthday in January which sounds like it's going to be a blast.  Again, we need to dump our waste, so Rooster told us to dump it in the neighbors because he's in jail & no one's there (good on him). 


This is where Rooster & Karen lived before, they built their new homestead I thought it was very quiet.

This is their new homestead they still have a lot of work ahead of them but there happy besides I'm pretty sure they would rather go for rides on their Harley's "the whole four of them" than work on their house & who could blame them.


As we approach the last leg of our journey & what a journey it's been we had a fabulous time meet some great people seen some wonderful sites caught up with old friends & had lots of laughs. Arrr a familiar site now it really feels like the end is near after over 2000ks.


Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and this is the end.

20190825 About 12ks before Charleville there’s a Rock Pool that was once a quarry and in the summer months a great place to take a dip and cool off but now it’s a great place to camp while sitting around a fire with good friends enjoying and cold ale and what better reason but to catch up with Dick. 20150809 WA Moora, New Norcia, Bindoon

20150809  The town of Moora came from the Aboriginal name 'Moora' which means blowfly and is situated in one of the most interesting wildflower areas of the state and is the largest town between Geraldton and Perth, well! all I can say is, all the other towns must be bloody small.  The rolling hills on the way to Moora are a blaze with the vivid yellow flowers of canola and are just breath taken and apparently it smells like cabbage. Canola is grown for its seed which is crushed for the oil used in margarine, cooking oil, and a few more. The properties of the oil fits with the current view that human health is better served by increasing the intake of mono and poly unsaturated fats in place of saturated fats The Drovers Inn was built in 1909 and stands on the intersection of the town. 20210421 NSW Standing Stones to Tenterfield

20210421 We woke to a 1 degree bloody freezing morning, thank god we have a diesel heater, we meet a couple who came in late yesterday afternoon who didn't have a heater at all, stuff that. Des decided to go back to Glen Innes and find the Australian Standing Rocks, as they are called, not Stonehenge as I thought so I set google map for the site and within 10 minutes good old Google guided us in the correct direction. The Stones were created in 1991/92 and the stones commemorate all Celtic people who helped pioneer Australia. The Stones acknowledge the contribution to Australian culture made by people from the Celtic nations of Scotland, Ireland, Cornwall, Wales, the Isle of Man, Brittany, Asturias and Galicia. Look! is that a little leprechaun roaming the grounds .😏 The Ancient Celts were farming people who lived across Europe and the British Isles around 2600 years ago and raised stones as calendars to mark the change of seasons to help indicate when they should sow and harvest.
