20111203 Qld Seventeen Seventy to Burnett Heads

20111203 On the road again Des wont's to see 1770 so that's our next stop, arrived late in the afternoon & drove around but it wasn't what he expected there was nowhere to stay all the parks were booked out or didn't accommodate for big rigs, we were going to stay in a parking lot but I didn't like that idea so we ended up finding a caravan park outside of town & stayed the night there at least we had power & hot showers.  No drinking tonight Des was in bed by 8.00pm so I sat up & played with my blog.

20111204 The next morning after breaky we left 1770 great beaches but to touristy.  Driving along we say a sign Baffle Creek & remembered we had a friend that lived there (Dicko) but didn't know where he lived so we stopped at a real estate agent & asked him, believe it or not he knew him but unfortunately, he had moved to Rocky.  We found a great park on the creek where a couple were fishing so we had a chat with them & decided to stay the night when we noticed a sign no camping (bugger) we had lunch then an hour's snooze before driving onto Burnett Heads to spend the night with Donna & my grandkids Ryan & Cullum.

Baffle Creek

Leaving Baffle Creek one way bridge.

After leaving Baffle Creek we headed for Childers where we caught up with an old friend of Desis, Murry Smith & his wife Del who owns a large property inland from Childers.  We had a long chat its always great to catch up with old friends.

Del, Des & Murry

On to Burnett Heads to see my grandchildren Ryan & Cullum & catch up with Donna we stayed the night & the next morning dropped the boys off at school. We were heading to Bundaberg to try & get my mobile fixed which has been broken down sense leaving Carnarvon Gorge when I noticed Ryan left his mobile phone & school hat in the Winnebago, good on him, now what to do so we decided to stop at the first post office where we left his items & phoned Donna to let her know what we did, all good. We found Battery World replaced the battery but the port where you plug the charger is blown up & the phone has to be sent away for repair, so I have been turning the phone off to save what little charge I have it's been a real pain, but I figured out how to phone from Skype, what a savior.
