20250525 NSW Warialda
20250525 Camp oven stew for dinner tonight but first we need a larger camp oven so off we go following Terry into his shed full of stuff, I don’t know how he did it but he walked right up to a camp oven and pulled it off the seat of a tractor, I’m not cooking in that I said but after a good scrub and a boil up on the fire it was good to go. Karen and I cut up the veggies while Terry and Gary had another go at shooting pig. Once again the boys returned up empty handed, just as well the woman has the dinner under control.
Here they stand at Cranky Rock where Gary’s father use to hang out as a youth.
The old girls walking across the swinging bridge at Cranky Rock.
Gails gift and cloths shop in Warialda.
I was surprised at the size of Gails shop not to mention the lovely gifts and clothes she supplies the people in town, well done Gail.
Terry’s getting ready to show us what’s behind the door and inside this shed but first we have to lift the door up with this crowbar.
We step inside to a shed full of old wares, this object was used for prospecting, its a vibrating sieve for sapphires, now that I have never seen.
Terry tells Des the story about this old tractor and how he used it in the tractor pull.
We even found a lasso in an old trunk, I’m sure it hasn’t been used for years.
He even has an old Jerrycan from 1952.
A great fire pit thanks to Terry and Des for dragging it over.
There’s nothing better than a campfire stew.
Everyone commented on how good the stew was, I’m thinking it was that rusty pot Terry dragged out of the shed, but it was really good.
Karan, Terry and I were the last up having a good old chin wag, he lasted until after midnight so he obviously was enjoying himself.
The cattle gave us a visit today as Karan hangs out her caravan door taking photos and shoeing them off, no shitting around our camp you lot.
Chinese tonight at the golf club in town and I must say it was delicious.
And there they go pig hunting with Terry at the wheel.
How sweet, Gary made dinner tonight for Karan, a potato chip sandwich with salami, certainly not my cup of tea but she finished the lot.
I tried for a goodbye photo, not my best work.
Thanks Terry for a wonderful stay hopefully we will see you again sometime soon.
Love this sign hanging in the shed.
Bye From Warialda
