20220620 Qld Jericho, Barcaldine, lfrodcombe to Longreach

20220620 There's no sence in hanging around in Jericho, we've been here in the past so it's straight onto Barcaldine along the Capricorn Highway, a long straight road that looks like it will never end and the scenery is untouched and quite pretty, you sure won't find any high rises out here just wide open space.

It just feels the the road to were ever you want to go.

In the outback the sceanery can change in the blink of the eye, hence why my camera sits on my lap ready for a quick snap of that scean that takes my interest, and this house on stilts on the hill got mine.

And then there's this old queenslander that is falling down after many years of neglect, I'm thinking she would have been a beauty in its day.

We then cross over into Outback Queensland, stretching from Carpentaria in the north, Birdsville in the west, Cunnamulla in the south and Tambo in the east, ya gotta love the outback.

It seems everywhere we go I see this sign and now I know why. 🠟

I found this map of the Great Dividing Range, begining in north Queensland, passing through the middle of New South Wales and finishes in Victoria, it is the world's third longest land based mountain range.

Every now and then we pass old relics that have found there resting place for all the travelers to view as we pass them by.

We camped in our old spot at the historic railway station in Ilfrodcombe that's just a walk to the pub where Des is going to shelt me dinner tonight, then return to the train line where we have a few drinks while waiting for a train.

20220621 You will find Ilfrodcombe on the Matilda Way heading to Longreach, you can't miss it because there's a line up of old tractors called the "Great Machinery Mile"an amazing line-up of historic machinery stretching over a kilometre.  Wakeing to a chilly morning our plan is to stock up on supplies in Longreach, grab a shower, fill up with fuel then take the development road for a 150 km's to Jericho, all just so Des can hopefully catch some huge yabbies.

Before we leave I get a photo from one old relic to another on one of the historic tractors.

Passing once again the Qantas Founders Museum as we head into Longreach.

We are seeing these bule trees everwhere now, R U OK?  prompting people to talk about mental health, it's not helping Des.😕😅

Leaving longreach we pass into the South West as we travel along the 150 km Development Road, a one lane road, please let there be no truck.

A 150km's of this, all the way to Jericho.

I Might Have a Snooze
