20220519 NSW Bangalow, Bexhill, Lismore, Casino & Mallanganee

20220519 Our plan is to head south then make a turn to the west in the hope of avoiding the rain and just as we were about to leave the hinge on the door hatch decided to snap, shit, bugger, but lucky for us with the punch of a mere pot revert we were on our way. Out through Mt Cotton, Cardbrook and onto the Pacific Motorway and we are on our way, to who know's were.

The road to the hinterland and beyond and by the look of those clouds ahead we could be in for some rain.

Our first town was Bangalow where we drove through the Main Street in search for a parking spot but this town doesn’t seem to accommodate for big rigs. Bangalow is a quaint little town set in the hinterland not far from Byron Bay and if you like to brows through some quant shops then this is the place to visit, it offers a variety of shops not to mention some inviting cafes, ranging from Thai to Italian and much more. Bangalow main resources are dairy cattle, fruit trees, macadamia nuts and coffee plantations so if you’re looking for a different life style then check out this place it really is delightful.

The Main Street into Bangalow.
I’m always impressed when towns take pride in their heritage and this is certainly one of those towns.

Passing through Bexhill a small settlement from the 1850s that has certainly felt the effects of the flood with many homes still abandoned and roadworks are ongoing.

I managed a flyby shot of a flood affected business.

Abandoned home due to the rising waters after the flood’s, it’s just so sad.

Gee! what happen to Hogan, this MP doesn’t seem to be very popular.

This is a common scene as we travel through NSW with many roads under repair.

This is a popular scene through this part of NSW.

We cross over into Casino at 2.06pm and have been on the road for over four hours and still haven’t had any lunch, so we thought, what the hell and drove onto Mummulgum then through the Mallanganee National Park, a pretty part of this area. The National Park was created in January 1999 and covers an area of 1144ha that is maintained by a group of volunteers.
