20210713 Qld Julia Creek
20210713 Travelling along Flinders Hwy where the land is desert-let apart from the rows of power polls stretching out along the highway and the occasional road side sign as we enter a new shire. But don't let that naked look fool you, hidden behind this façade is the heart beat of Australia's cattle stations. We head to Julia Creek, a small service town for people passing through and home to the rare Julia Creek Dunnart.
Driving into Julia Creek's RV stop when this Yeti jump out at us, that would be Ray, one of the Straddie crew.
Then this crazy lady jumps in front of us, yep! these crazy pair are from Straddie, maybe theirs something in the water over sea's.
We're all settled in and the Queen of camping take he place on her balcony with her side kick beside her and the ground crew look on.
Our camp for the next few days.
Kay takes a spin on one of the many bikes supplied before getting on the tirps, good move Kay.
Ray, Wendy and Killer, old friends who shared some great memories and tales of long ago.
Des and Ray, who they kept on asking, is it too early for a drink, since when did time matter said I.
Kay having a bit of a jig, I think.
Two bottles of wine later and she's half way to having,
"A Hard Days Night", you go Kay.
