20210602 Qld Chatsworth

20210602 With the van all packed, the plants all watered it's now time for yet another adventure as we take the left turn out of the driveway and head North to Gympie looking for adventure as Des would say so look out Kay and Ken here we come, we look forward to seeing your new pad. Chatsworth is about 7.5 ks just out of Gympie and was once mostly used for dairy farming.

After arriving we were greeted with open arms before bitching that we wanted our old camp spot back at Evendale Green, we managed to fit the van in before our host take us on a tour of the house and surroundings.

The house and grounds are surrounded by gardens and fruit trees that need some loving care and I'm sure these pair will make it happen, I think I'm more excited to see the outcome in a year or so.

The view from the back and I can certainly beleave it was once all dairy farming, only cattle can manage those steep hills but the view is pretty special. Our Ken has his work cut out for him but we all know he loves a challange.

Ken's new toy to help with his renovations and trust me he's going to need it.

This is going to be interesting, packet dough, and we all know our Kay 'doesn't' normally do packet stuff so I'm keen to see the outcome, only now it's a cook off between these pair, Kay looks allfully smug there.😏

It's not just a pizza oven its a blood warm heater and we all know how much it's needed in Gympie.

We all took turns in making a pizza even Sam who was just a tad heavy handed with the cheese, but still it was yummy, the chef's on the other hand need more pratice perfecting their dough.

03062021 We wake to a chilly morning in good old Gympie and the plain is to get the slow cooker going with the venison we brought then go for a drive and check out Chatsworth's new development. After breaky we all pile into the car and with Ken at the wheel we tour the area taking in the sites with Ken and Kay given us a running comentary. Many years ago they would drive through Chatsworth when is was still very much cattle country and always liked this area as did Ken's Dad, it looks like it was ment to be.

'They want to drag us off our sacred site’
We passed the site were a group of protesters are standing there ground over what they say is a sacred site, barricades and an encampment have been erected to protest the proposed demolition of part of the site to make way for the Cooroy to Curra Section D of the Bruce Highway, but apparently most of the rocks have been distrubuted throughout Gympy to build new fences, hence no Pyramid left.

I came upon this image of the so called Pyramid like structure, but there are many opinions on who actually built it. Some say it was built by the Egyptians or Phoneticians, others say it was the Chinese explorer Zheng He but the Kabi Kabi aboriginals suggest it was their ancestors who built it, but most archaeologist suggest it was built by Italian farmers, so the question now is, will the bypass go ahead or not.

Well we cooked the venison and I for one one wasn't overly impressed but the turkish bread toased in the pizza oven made eating it a bit more delightfull. We had a great couple of days with our dear friend but Desies highlight was watching Ken zig zaging his wheel barra loaded with wood up the steep hill, stuff that.

Their was once an above ground pool on this spot but thanks to Ken it's now demolished and awaiting a new inground pool, so you had better get a move on Ken we are expecting it in before summer. He also removed the external stairs and the smart ass put the BBQ in front thinking, Leonie will get pissed and take a tumble over the verander for sure, he's proberly not far from the truth.😅😜

Thanks Guys for a Great Stay, Hervey Bay Next
