20210414 NSW Glenriddle Recreation Reserve

20210407 I set the Nav for Split Rock Dam Camp Area that supplies showers and power for a small fee, and apparently it's a popular inland sports and recreation area, well! it was shit, the grass is over grown, we were at a loss where the powered sites were not to speak of, where the hell are the amenities, this can't be it. After checking Wiki we turned the van around and went in search of the Glenriddle Rec Reserve in Upper Manilla and as we drove over the hill our eyes captured the landscape, it may not have showers and power but it has a view to to die for.

After collecting our wood we built our fire then sat back and watched the sun go down.

After all the rain the rolling hills at Glenriddle are lush and green with running water in the river still flowing.

The sunset over the river as we listen to the cows in the background and watch the Roo's jump by checking us out while the wild ducks frolic in the river, our own piece of heaven.

Look Lee I found a walking stick, never part an old man from his walking stick.😅😂

20210408 The days have been awesome with the suns shining and the nights perfect as we sit around the fire with a coldy while playing our favorite songs and little boogieing on the grass before we stagger to our cubby house for a blissful sleep.  We wake with the sound of the Peewee's chirping and the cows mooing as they pass by our camps as I lay in bed waiting for my morning cuppa.

It's six years today that our little man came into our life's and his favorite saying was
"Su Up Dumb Head" now he screams as his brothers bash him up but he will always be our little man.
Happy Birthday Owen.

I decided to rick the water but it was surly colder than I thought but also refreshing, that,s one less shower to see me through one more night. At least I braved it, Mr sookie wouldn't ever put his toes in there.

The Man From Snowy River scene lives again is outback Glenriddle as I grab my camera and snap the riders gallop over the hills and through the river in search of their herd with their trusty dogs tagging along ready for their chores that awaits them.

I'm not missing this as I follow the riders up the hill and hide behind the loo so we don't spook the herd as they are rounded up and herded home.

Our camp looking up from the river.

20210412 We had every intentions of only staying a few day but when it came time to leave Des is reluctant, I wouldn't mind staying longer this is a great camp, well stay I said, it's not as though we have anywhere special we need to be, so stay we did.  We light the fire to make our famous Jaffles and Des creams himself over a large fish that calls in for a visit every afternoon jumping  through the river, and she's a beauty alright, but guess who took the fishing lines out, we never use them he says. Des recons if Kev was here he'd be saying, I gonna catch that fish Merl as he hobbles to the river with his line.

Look I made a small chimney, unfortunately it's not like the big one Pete made at Lara Wetlands.

Every night the sky has put on a display of color as the sun sets over our camp before the stars light up the sky, we search for the saucepan, is that moving said Des, wouldn't that be the atmosphere moving I said, it's funny how certain things capture your interest and by the end of our night the saucepan had disappeared from site.
Des having a funny moment, the Roo's across the river are boogieing to our music but then he decks her for being foolish.

Des yells out, Lee check this out and the last thing I expected to see was a flock of Pelicans landing on the river right in front of us, how cool is this.

I went in search of some more wild flowers scatted throughout the camp and this is the result of my find, very pretty I must say.

A video of our camp spot.

WE WILL BE BACK
