20200603 Qld Jundah to Stonehenge

20200603  After a long chat with our new neighbors last night, Gav gave Des directions to the water holes, just take the road up there to the left said Gav, but isn't that a dirt road, said Des, no it's bitumen all the way to Eromanga, so we actually did an extra 300ks when we could have cut straight through, opps, someones not happy. Des decided to head back to Eromanga and try his luck as it's only 80 ks back, once in town we take advantage of the free showers and while I blog Des goes in search of the water hole.

Des stopped while I snapped some photos of the old Falcon abandoned in the middle of nowhere, the item sticking out of the motor is actually an old canoe.

30-06-2020 We camped around a water hole for the night after moving a couple of times hopping to get some yabbies,

Des is up early Checking his pots and it was such a lovely morning I grabbed my trusty camera for some shoots.

The view of our camp overlooking the dug out, 80 ks back and no yabbies but its so quite and peaceful.

Des cooking breakfast before we depart for Jundah.

Arriving at the Jundah Hotel we noticed the sign for lunch so off we go, with the music blaring, we choose what we want only to be told, I'm to busy cleaning and don't have time to cook, the little sour faced girl behind the counter said, well! that's different.  We walked to the caravan park and were chatting to Shane and John who told us the story of a couple of travelers who went to pub for dinner, ordered a beer and asked if she could tune the music down only to be told, if you don't like it go outside, gee it's clear this pub isn't going to last long.

We were given directions to a camp spot down the road where big rigs will fit and it's right on the Thompson River and Des can catch his yabbies, not to mention the added bones of watching the horses roam free.

Each day we had a visit from the locals horses coming down for their daily drink and a pat.

I came across these Corella perched in the palm tree in the park , there noisy little buggers but at the same token this is cute.
Walking the streets of Jundah when I noticed this cross on the church, I don't know about you but to me it looks like a cross from the Ku Klux Klan, creepy.
02-07-2020 It's our last night on the river so we made a fire and sat outside taken in the view when I herd a noise overhead, I looked up and the sky was black with the most Black Cockatoos I have ever seen, how special was that I say to Des.

03-07-2020  I'm a bit sad leaving this camp spot on the Thompson River river but we had a great time lazing around watching time pass us by not to mention the horses roaming free.  Des ended up catching a few yabbies which kept him entertained walking back and forth checking his pots but it wasn't the success he was hoping for as we pack up and head to Stonehenge where he filled our freezer last year.
