20200610 Qld Chinchilla to Judd's Lagoon Yuleba
20200610 We’ve noticed the town’s are much quieter than usual and there are certainly less vans on the road which I’m sure the truckies are loving but the town folk are struggling with many shops shut down, but don't despair, Mr Cathcart is here to spread his fortune throughout your town, the Reject Shop has some great bargains😂. While Des stocks up on our supplies I cash in my winning scratchy I was given for my birthday, $50, the most I've ever won 🌈.
Just out of town we found a lovely camp spot for the night, we sure could have a great fire with all the wood about but I don’t want to drink and sure enough if I light a fire 🔥 I will certainly drink.
A lovely spot over looking the Lagoon while watching the wild life fly by, a fire would be nice.
11-06-2020 After Des cooks breakie we drive back to Chinchilla for extra supplies before driving 130ks along the Warrego Highway passing Dulacca and onto Yuleba to camp at Judd's Lagoon.
The Dulacca Hotel, she's a bit hard to miss as we pass her by.
Just after 1:30pm we enter the Queensland Outback, what better place to be.
Yuleba or Yule/bah is Aboriginal for Water Lilly, is a small town known as the place where the last Australian Cobb & Co stopped and ran no more in 1924 and with stories of cattle duffers (meaning, incompetent or stupid person)😂, George Stanley who links to the Kenniff Brothers, notorious bushrangers.
The streets of Yuleba in 1918, if only it still look the same.
Our camp for the next few days and to our surprise there's ample wood but if you don't want to go in search for wood there's bags for $6 waiting to be sold.
12-06-2020 We wake to another beautiful winters day but the great thing about the moment is there's very few campers, just us Queensland's and we're all loving it.
On the piss again, I can't wait to get on the piss again ♫
13-06-2020 What is it about a fire in a remote location that makes you want to drink and that we did while trying to use up the last of our wood until the rain hit calling it a night.
14-06-2020 Waking early to the sound of rain and Des packing up to escape the mud and a sinking fan, there's one thing I can say about Des, he's definitely cautious as we leave in search of solid ground.
Judd's Lagoon, a great spot to camp while taking in the quite surroundings with the sound of a calf crying out in the distance, arr the serenity.
