20200208 TAS Tassis Trip

Marilyn arrives to chauffer us to the airport for a two week stint in good old Tassie leaving behind that Queensland heat at Desie's delight. We arrive at 12.25pm, collect our luggage and pick up our car which they upgraded up to a new Holden commodore, look out Tassie here we come. We head to the Salamanca Warf for a feed of some fresh fish and chips and bugger me dead if it's not Karen and Doug a few cars in front of us so it was a quick call to share our excitement to catch up soon.

The sculpture "Self Portrait, Louis and Jo" is named after the Tasmanian Antarctic Explorer Louis Bernacchi posing with his dog Jo.

Now to stop for supplies at the local BCF before heading to Gordon to spend a few days with the McNeale's at the other end of Tassie on the beautiful D’Entrecasteaux Channel, look out guys here we come.

Our first night was catching up with some of Hals mates while sitting in his well manicured shed downing our favourite beverages and as usual Des telling his many yarns while the guys peed themselves laughing, and I couldn't let the chef, John get off free as a few digs went his way, but don't worry the laughs were flying.
Thank For a Great Night Guys

09-02-2020 While Hal put Des to work Cath and I drive to Snug to brows the shops where I managed to spend some cash in one of the funky 2nd Hand shops before stopping for a coffee. On our return the boys were still busy doodling in the shed so we snuck inside with out new wares, not that they care.

Hall put Des to work on the Lathe, his new tool of the week.

11-02-2020 Another great catch up with the Hal and Cath but it's time to move on so Hal showed Des a scenic route to take as we head to Mole Creek to spend the remainder of our trip with Doug and Karen.
