20189513 NSW Hay Plains to Hay on the Murrumbidgee
20189513 After driving across the Hay Plains you have a pretty good indication that nature struggle to survive in this desolate landscape, known as one of the flattest places in the world, the plains are a long stretch of nothing as far as your eyes can see, with the exception of a smashed car the odd shed in the middle of nowhere and the occasional cotton farm, but I guess that’s what you get when you travel in theses remote areas.

15-05-2018 We had a great nights sleep after pigging out on our yummy stew, many drinks and a bit of a jig only I woke with a sore leg.
As remote as the Hay Plains are in a way they are actually quite surreal.
The cotton fields add another twist to the somewhat desolate surroundings.
Someone's up to no good or is he just taken in the serenity, nop that certainly doesn't sound like Des.
Now isn't this worth that long trip across the plains, our home for the next week, sitting up on the Murrumbidgee River (Brandon's Bend), who could ask for more.
Off we go in search for wood when I looked over this log and this fellow was looking straight back at me, Well! I jumped back, Des screamed like a girl (kidden) and we both shit ourselves. He thought I saw a snake but I was startled to see an Owl staring back at me, but I did run back to get my camera.
I kinda had an idea this little fellow was injured so I phoned animal rescue and sure enough his wing was injured and full of maggots so apparently he will be put down.π’
This guy is 7 months old and is still being bottled feed every 3 to 4 hours and it pees and shits in his pouch, which is worse than a baby but it was cute.
20180514 The wind has eased, it's a lovely sunny day, we have the best camp spot and there's no one else here, so tonight we blast our music and finally have a camp oven, YAA!. Later in the afternoon we had campers turn up and camped up from us, piss off said Des (silently) this is our spot.
The fires blazing, there's heaps of coals and the stews in the ground, now we can sit back turn up the tunes, down a few drinks, and wait.
Look out for that ledge Des that's a steep drop.

It's a really cold night and fire is just what you need to keep those chills at bay while enjoying a beer and wine.

O dear what have I done now, yep I fell over the fire pit, I'm thinking I need to stay clear of the fire pits but at least it wasn't the steep ledge which is what I was more concerned about.
We try to do a bit of a walk daily and this day we were strolling along when I saw an Echidna in the bush, all I did was point to it and Des turned and jumped back 6 feet, Well! I laughed so much I nearly peed, you bloody idiot he said why don't you just say what it is.ππ
Location like this are a bonus to find and to think we nearly stayed at the camp in town with 50 other campers, this is one location we will defiantly miss.
