20180525 NSW Dubbo to Cassilis

20180525 Dubbo, the old stomping grounds of my brothers who lived here many years ago and his daughter Jody still a big part of the community but unfortunately we couldn't catch up with her due to work commitments.  Did you know that, Dubbo is now thought to be mispronunciation of the local Wiradjuri word "Thubbo".

Look who we found in Dubbo, he was having a nice quite coffee when I came up behind him a frightened the crapper out of him,but he love's me don't ya Dave.😄

I get the feeling these pair a plotting, now I'll meet you at this spot and you have the hole dug so we can dispose of her quickly, then we're FREE! FREE, well I wouldn't be surprised.

One of the Wild Hog boys, he travel's far and wide on his trusty motorcycle looking for adventure, All he needs is the leather helmet.😅

Don't let that sack on his bike kid you there is no way he sleeps under the stars he's a motel biker these days.

But be aware for you could catch him skinny dipping in a near by creek, "Marko! Polo".

Number three on the Rhino Adventure trail but I think I'm coming to the end of the trail, I can't see Des wanting to go in search for more, NOT.
We were hoping to meet Dave in Dunedoo and have a night on the turps but it's only 100ks from Dubbo and we all know once the Hog hit the road there's no stopping him.
On our way to Cassilis and the fires that devastation parts of NSW are still very much evident in the surrounding bushland.

Cassilis sets a scenery as you you enter the tiny historical town with the lovely red leafed trees.
There's a camping area and RSL Club at the War Memorial Park with shower's and power for $15 per night, I like to support struggling town so why not stay for a few days.

Off to the club for a coldie and a chat with some travellers, Des gets us another drink and was ripped off by the bitch behind the bar and if that wasn't bad enough we ordered a plate of wedges with sour cream, big mistake. After 45 minutes I asked the waiter how much longer, who returned with the reply, it shouldn't be much longer, then we saw a guy who finally got there meal, promptly returned it saying this is rubbish and walked out. We finally got our small plate of wedges with a dollop of sour cream on top after 1 hour, that was it for us we never returned and neither did the other guys.

With nothing much to do we decided to go for a walk and found there's more of the town in the back streets.
Deserted they may be but these buildings still osze history of what once was.
The Royal Hotel was built of sandstone in 1870 and although it is closed it is still a prominent landmark in Cassilis.
Such a wonderful view over looking the hills from the main street as we walk the town.

26-05-2018 Today we meet a couple of gay guys who invited us for drinks and sit around the fire only to find out it was the guy who returned his crappy meal and walked out. Not thinking Des would go but he surprised me but when I said to go and check out there van he wasn't very keen.  We had a different night with Terry, who use to be in Lay Girls parading his $1000 jumpers that he knits, until I got him so wasted he couldn't remember going to bed, but it was a fun time had by all, even Des.

Now you all know I'm really not into dogs but these guys were rather cute, they kind of reminded me of my sister’s crazy foxes, even Des got into them but he really likes them.

27-05-2018 I woke with just a bit of a hangover and as usual Des was fine but then he's always so well behaved not like his misfit misses who never know's when to stop, arr well.

We need to get out of this van so we go for another walk to town, this Police Station was built of sandstone in 1858 and still looks the same as the day it was built.
The St Columba's Church also built of sandstone in 1899.
The View as we leave Cassilis
