20180318 VIC Narrandera to Cobram

20180318 I must admit it’s great to be back on the road once again except the wind had picked up and was blown the van over the road then to top it off we enter into a dust storm as others were coming out of it, it just goes to show how dry it is here.

Wind up the windows and close the vents, we're driving right into it.
Driving through Narrandera, Town of Trees

Passed Jerilderie to reach Finley but not before hitting some more dust storms.

The main street of Finley bridges Mulwala Canal at 155 km is the largest irrigation channel in Australia.
The wheel of Prosperity is a symbol of water’s importance to the town and district.

We decided to stay at Finley Caravan Park, to catch up on our washing only I’m not sure about hanging it out in this bloody dust storm, I swear it’s following us.

With the wind finally calming down we grab a beer and walk the canal,
Got Ya! πŸ˜‰

                                                                            ⟹
19-03-2018 Finley hospital is booked out so we drive onto Tocumwal where the stitches were finally removed, some butterfly tape added and I was on my way, finally.

We were going to stay at Town Beach in Tocumwal only it was wall to wall vans so we drove over the border into Victoria and headed to Cobram to camp on the Murry River.

We found a great spot overlooking the river, yep, this will do us for a few days all I need now is a gun to shoot all the bloody coraller’s, just kidding.πŸ’£πŸ’£

Yea! Fire night so we went in search for wood then I made my special mince brew while Des prepares the sandwich maker, now to sit back and have a few drinks, and pumped up the music, as you do.

21-03-2018 With heaps of left over mince we indulge ourselves with Jaffels again, why not after all it’s a nice easy dinner.

Drinks with our happy campers before the sun sets, Ted, Lynette, David and Sandra, piss heads.🍷🍷
Ted and Dave rock our camp with their folk ballads while the woman sip on a wine while talked up a storm.
Check out Ted's groovy guitar.
That's what I call a lot of Bull.

22-03-2018 Time to hit the road so we say our good buys and leave this wonderful secluded spot stopping at Cobram to stock up our supplies.

A preserved settler’s house is the original log home made from large Box Wood trees covered with a Bark Roof and earthen floors dating back to 1874.

The Cobram Hotel built in 1892 and she still stands proud over the town.

A fly by shot of the old cars as we leave Cobram.

I get the feeling some one's trying to slow my drinking     down, really, 100 ml,

Yep! that's never gonna happen

You know what they call this, says Des?
No! what Des?
A 100 mile an hour tape
Why is it called that Des?
Because you can tape something to the roof of your car and it will last 100 miles.
Really, and I need to know that, WHY?

😏
