20160423 Tas Barrington with Martin and Sue
20160423 As we come to the end
of our trip I look back over the last two and a half months and recollect how
in ore of Tassie I was. Tassie truly
takes you back in time with the amazing little towns, the historical buildings
and they all have that special story to tell of the history that once was, and
let’s not forget the quirky creativeness that each town takes so much pride in.
The weather has been absolutely wonderful with only two days of rain the whole
trip, how lucky were we. Tassie truly
has four seasons’ in one day, one minute the sun is shining, the next it’s
raining, then it’s freezing or windy then the sun shining again, so wearing layers
is the go. We found the Tassie people
very friendly and so obliging not to mention the new travel friend we meet
along the way and the many laughs we all shared.
We meet Martin and Sue at
Fingal were all the campers came together under there awning as Martin had the
only pot belly fire to attract us all.
Martin shown Des his
cool man shed and on the RHS would be his brew, not quite ready.

One of Martins remote
toys and he even has a tug boat to get the Turbo out of trouble.
Sue takes us on a tour
of her lovely garden and look what I found, the beautiful fuchsia flowers, I
would love to be able to grow them but they like the cold.
It was so funny watching Sue
chase Millie around the garden trying to get a dead animal off her only every
time Sue got close Millie would pick it up and run off.
After we all finished eating
the yummy roast dinner Martin and Sue cooked we returned to Martins pot belly
or travelers magnet for a few more drinks, we should get one Des, fat chance.
I’m not very keen on carrots but after eating
them at Sue and Martin’s I will never look back, they adding parsley to the carrots
when cooking them and it was really yummy, try it.
But the peas were a different story, they stayed on my plate, Yak!
24-04-2016 Again we woke to a lovely sunny morning and
our last day in Tassie with our new friends Martin and Sue. We had such a wonderful time last night sitting
around the fire and having a good old yarn, it was as if we had known these
pair all of our lives.
Martin cooks us all
breakfast, another of Martin's specialties, yummy.
The chefs special,
fried eggs, melted cheese on a muffin roll, Mmm very good.
Passing the time of day while chatting and
taking in the view.
Check out this view from
there front yard overlooking Mt Roland, I recon we should do a house swap Sue,
only in the summer.
Sue and Des just before
he starts the truck to go HH (heavy hurling) ad Des calls it.
We were lucky to meet the lovely Angela, Sue
and Martin’s daughter before heading off.
Come on Sue one last photo
before we leave, it’s always sad to say good bye when you find new friends, but
hopefully we will meet again one day.
This is the landscape around
Barrington where Martin and Sue live, just beautiful.
A cow’s life, looking
over Mt Roland.
