20160317 Tas Orford (Spring Beach), Triabunna to Swansea
20160317 Perched up in my seat with my trusty camera
at my side snapping at will as Des tackles the windy roads of Tassie we head
for another grand adventure, to were, who knowns.
Heading
towards Orford on Prosser River, check out the rock wall along the river, I’m guessing
was built by convicts.
After we walked
the town which consist of a couple of cafes and a IGA we head to Spring Beach
and camped up for a couple of days.
20160318 Surprise, Surprise the weather has turned bad so we spent the day in our cozy van in bed, then I put on 50 Shades of Grey, "sorry guys" but I can't say what he brought out but it wasn't anything to do with bondage.
20160319 Ya! The sun
is shining now we can venture outside so we packed up and left for Triabunna,
meaning, "Native Hen". Triabunna is a tiny port-side fishing town off the highway after leaving Orford.
Tasmania's Native Hen was the emblem for the local school for many years.
Wondering what
all the lights on this boat are, sticky big me asked and were told the lights
attract squid so this is a squid vessel, different.
It’s bloody freezing
so after a couple of photos we quickly jumped in our warm van and left, then we came
across a weird bridge which I remembered for our last trip to Tassie.
The historic Bridge
was built by convicts with giant stones in 1843 to prevent cattle from falling
off the side. Known as the Spiky Bridge
due to the ragged flagstones that jut from the side of the bridge walls, put in
place, not to protect humans, but to keep cattle safe.
We arrived at Swansea a town in the heart of Tasmania’s east coast with expensive seafood so after we walked the town we left.
