20160303 Tas Geeveston
20160303 Geeveston is a hundred years old this December and the town’s history is crafted in the wood carvings that are spread throughout the town.
This is one of those lovely towns with the historical old shops and local artwork that creates a town.
The museum/information center is worth a look and Des checks out the big old logging truck. This brings back memories of Brownies masturbater only this it a tad more modern. Burls are lumps that grow on the side of the tree as a result of insect attack or injury to the tree. They are great to carve chairs, bowls and other pieces of fine art from. I'm sure our friend Crossy could make something spiffy from it. Big Log-Big Job
This monument stands in memory of John Geeves, who in 1874 established and opened the first steam powered "Speedwell Mill" in Geeveston.
