20160216 Tas Bernie to Marrawah

20160216 What a great surprise, Scotty told us Karen and Roster were on their way to Tassie, cool, so I phoned and phoned but still I had no reply, text them said Des, if there not getting my phone calls there not going to get my text, arr, what have I got to loose, bugger me dead they finally called.  As it turned out we were heading towards each other so we arranged to meet in Bernie, Ya! I can hardly wait, I love meeting friends on the road.

The people you meet when you least expect it and we were very excited to catch up with Karen and Roster, there thay are Des. Touring Tassie on their Harley's which I'm sure would be fun but after talking to Karen and how bloody cold it can get, you can stick it, I will have the comfit of my van any day.
We followed them to find a camp spot, no going to fast guys were in a truck remember, nop! we don't like this one, we spotted a better one up the road a bit so off we go again.
This is what they call, Free Spirit Harley Riders, living the dream, more like freezing there ares off but loving it also.
Yep this is perfect, hidden behind shrubs and we have it all to ourselves, and it’s on the water, bonus.  Surly you didn’t expect anything less, drinks and a good old chin wag.
Before setting up their tent they had to restring the poles, I didn’t know you could do that, wouldn’t it be easier  just to by a new tent I said, but they persevered and she was as good as new.
Home sweet home and they even have a blow up mattress, that's not roughing it guys, I thought you were real bikers.

What better place to get wasted and have a great time catching up with old mates, you just can’t beat the beach, all we need now is a fire.

We couldn’t believe it up the beach waddled some Penguin’s, how cool.
As you walk through to the beach we noticed all these handmade igloo apartments and around dusk the cute little Penguin waddle noisily ashore to nest in the burrows.

17-02-2016  While Des made breaky for all of us, Karen and Roosted packed their tent and belongings and strapped their bikes down. We had a great night boozing on and laughing at some old stories about Scotty, there’s never a dull moment where Scotty’s involved, love ya Scotty.

You can’t leave until I get one more photo for my blog, haven't you got enough said grumble bum Des, never.
It’s always great to catch up with old friends especially on the road, have fun guys and here’s hoping we might catch up on the road before you leave.
Karen and Rooster looking for adventure.
A fly by shoot on our way to Marrawah, how cool is this, well done farmer Joe.

184 ks we traveled today before camping at Green Pt, Marrawah for the night and what a lovely beach.  Green Point is the end of the road heading west and the camp grounds face onto a wild surf beach where huge ocean swells roll in uninterrupted from South Africa.  The surfers brave the water looking for that special wave, too bloody cold for me.

The Wicked Campers strike again and in the paper we read they are thinking of banning them because of anti-discrimination laws and the messages can be distasteful and sexist, what a load of crap.
