20150914 WA Pingaring

20150914 We were heading towards the wave rock when we noticed silo’s, let’s check that out so we parked alongside the huge silo sheds and walked the grounds when I found some open dongers with power and showers, Yaa! we hit the jackpot but we decided not to push our luck so we camped at the free camp which had power anyway, and each day we would walk to the dongers to sneak a showers.

Graham the store owner told me to walk to the golf club to check out the rocks, it’s only about 1k, so after a nap I checked it out, a K be buggered it was about 5k’s but it was worth it.  This is what I found as I walked to the top of the rock, canola as far as you can see, now that’s a “Wow” factor.

Now who can remember playing on this as a child, I haven’t seen one of those since school days.

The galahs having a great feed on the wheat until we came along and they took off.

This is called the Pingaring Gum Tree Tavern and most afternoons a few may turn up for a beer and a chat.  Graham called us over for a beer then the Ute’s rolled in one after the other, the guys brought a beer from the shop and gathered for a chat and we were lucky to be part of it.

The fire pit, a rim of a tractor & Friday night she's blazing using Mallee roots to keep her going.

These are real farm dogs and they just sat there waiting for their master although one jumped out for a stroll but as soon as he herd that whistle he jumped in the ute.

The guys at the shop said there called 28 “OK” say no more.  Over to you Doug and Karen do you know the names of these pair.

Pingaring even has a celebrity living right next to the shop and I have herd her books are worth a read.

The area is covered in these wild flowers and on my return walk I picked a bunch for the van, but don’t tell anyone as it’s a hefty fine I’m told.
