20150718 SA Robe Rest Area to Bullara Station
I managed to snap a drive by shoot of the huge Terex Haul Truck with a load capacity of 170 ton and its maximum speed it only 40 k.p.h, they travels from one side of the main road to the other all day, how dreary would that be.
Another drive by shoot of the reach Iron Ore country we live.
13-06-2015 Stopped at Robe River Rest Area minus the river, I was talking to some guys repairing the bridge who told me the river was full just two months ago, it’s hard to believe.
Camping down near the river with no water but if you walked up stream there was a river you could swim in if you were keen, nope far too cold for me although it did look very inviting.
The river when there is water flowing through her. I was told after a flood it is very muddy until it settles and becomes clear. Who needs a camera just copy what you need.
The bridge over the river was under repair and each day I went for a walk I would stop for a chat and return with some new stories for Des, who recons I was chatting up the workers, off cause I was silly.
Des prepares the fire for a camp oven stew, that will not be enough wood Des, but as usual he never listens to me and as usual I was right and for the first time he agreed we me, well you could have knocked me over with a feather.
I nearly stepped on this little fellow near our van so I rescued him but not before he posed for me, he's rather cute I thought.
Check out my new addition to my bird watching collection, now I could be wrong but I think it’s a Rainbow Bee Eater, one for Doug and Karen to check out, isn't he pretty.
Bullara Station
17-07-2015 Time to leave another great camp spot and we have decided to check out a station stay before going into Exmouth. It was only about two kilometres of dirt road into the station and the road was kept in pretty good condition.

Under the water tank is one of the many open air showers scatter around the grounds, pretty cool I thought.
And that would be a wood fire hot water system which is manned constantly to keep up with the demands of the grey nomads.

Walking the station grounds and I came across this old shearing shed, which wood make for a great photo shoot.
I was told if you follow the beer bottles along the walking path you will come across a Bowerbird nest and you might be lucky to see the bird, what no beer at the end? About the only thing I say were objects laying in the nest so I continued on.
On my way back I stopped for another look and noticed the objects had been moved so I waited very quietly and in he hoped but not for long.
Apparently they are renowned for their unique courtship behaviour, where males build a nest and decorate it with brightly coloured objects in an attempt to attract a mate, a bit like a woman dowry I guess.
Ever afternoon the grey nomads bring their chairs, wine and some butter and gather around the fire pit for a good old chin wag.
And every afternoon John cooks a wonderful tasty damper for all to enjoy. Then afterwards John brought out his small keg of port to share with the stayers, man did I want to stay then but Des dragged me home, Mr kill joy.
It was a good stay much better than a caravan park but it will never beat Lara Station.
