03-12-2012 Just lazed around I blogged, Des walked to town as my foot is still stuffed after kicking a large ball in the back yard with Ashford my grandson, I have no idea what I've done, all I know is I can't go for long walks. Later in the afternoon Paula picked us up for another session and dinner. Des and I walked home and man it was cold the weather has certainly cooled down, bloody Victoria.
04-12-2012 Phil and Paula picked us up and drove us around the region, sites seeing and checking out some camp spots along the way where we could shower fill up our water and camp up all for free.
In the 1840s a small settlement developed on the Campaspe River servicing pastoral runs. The Post Office opened on the 1st January 1849 as Bertram’s Inn, it was renamed Campaspie on the 1st January 1850. In 1864 when the township was established the name became Runnmede and in around 1882 the name was changed again to Elmore.

The Shamrock Hotel is a particularly large and intact example of Australian hotel architecture. The composition of the building is typical of the nineteenth and early 20th century provincial hotels, erected in 1912 for TW McMaster.
Stopping on the way home to capture some shoots of fields of hay, and that would be Phil lurking along the fence line.
We stopped for some photos here and there before returning home to pick up supplies for yet another BBQ, drinks and a photo shoot of the stars and joining us is Bill and Trudie, friends of Phil and Paula. With Bill and Des in the back ground giggling like little school girls while we were having problems with our remotes. Finally were set up and ready to shoot, we click our camera's, now it's just a waiting game.
Here we are setting up for a photo shoot of the stars with a long exposure. After a 1/2 hour we unlock the mirror and wait for exposure before turning off our cameras. The results should be what looks like shooting stars, only mine for some reason didn't work, Phil and Trudies came out fine but no, not me.
The "Roadhouse Blues" bus awaiting for its new motor before Phil and Paula can commence their next journey.
We say our goodbys, it always great to catch up with new friends.
