20120213 NSW Dorrigo Range

20120213 Dorrigo next, God don’t miss the turn off, Des missed it on one of his bike rides with Peck many years ago & you have to travel miles to turn around, there it is, up the Bellingen Range we go heading straight into the storm, exactly what we were afraid of.  The storm getting worse & the wind is picking up, so we decided to turn off & try to find a place to park up & wait it out, as it turned out it wasn't that bad just some heavy rain.

Driving up the range after the storm.

Marvelous views, visionary cattle country so lush & green like Maleny, Des reckons this is where we are going to live (in his dreams) a lot cheaper than Maleny. There’s certainly no shortage of water up here rain is in abundance.
Below is a fly by picture of a water fall on the side of the road driving up the range which goes under the road.

Newell Falls

We made it to the top after a lot of huffing & puffing only to find all the shops were closed.
I found this terrific 2nd hand shop, this is when I which the girls were here only it was bloody shut to "bugger" even Des would have liked to browse through it, apparently the owner opens it when he feels like it, man was I itching to get into this shop, I was so pissed off.

We walked around the town but the only thing opened was the pub & we didn't even have a drink.

Hotel Dorrigo
We drove on to a spectacular site called Dangar Falls took some pictures then we had time for one more stop before we had to find a place to settle for the night.

Danger Falls

There were some young Chinese people whom I took there photo so they returned the favour for Des & I.
Over looking Danger Falls

One more stop before parking up for the night, look at that view, now wasn't that worth it, I must admit we live in a beautifull country.

Dorrigo National Park
After driving around for an hour we finally found this spot to park up near a sport field not bad hay.

Parked up for the night.
View from our Van
Sites around where we parked up for the night then the next morning Des & I walked around the town & back to our camp site, then we found another walking track on the other side of the creek so we thought we would do that one also & we found an apple tree full of apples that we couldn't reach, what a waste.
