Well, here we are once again in little old Millmerran, we pull into the showgrounds
where Des finds a spot on a cement slab only to find out they moved the caravan
park over to the Pony Club, but the caretaker Allan was kind enough to let us
stay after Des spun him a yarn about his concerned over the rain heading our
way. We only intended to stay until after the rain but then Allan was looking
for some volunteered to help with their Xmas in July festival on this Saturday
so we hang around to help set up, the bonus was we were upgraded to the under
covered area of the shed, Des was happy that.
Scotty sent a text saying: You don't get that every day, four Head-Hunters and a Pygmy, rare as rocking horse shit.π
I meet these guy’s lurking out the back taking photos of each other when I walked up and took their phone and snapped a few photos for them, can we get a beer they said, very shyly, sure you can, there $5 a can, just walk in, you will be fine as they slowly creeped in looking more suspicious than ever, especially with their back packs, but they got their beer and were happy chappies.
I worked with the guy in blue who told me a couple of funny but very clean jokes.
A bit of country comes to the festival with this girl and her goat tagging along.
The kids are excited to see the rides go up and the parents are happy to be free for a bit to enjoy a beer or wine in peace.
Even the force drop in for a friendly visit, but be ware they're watching you.
After the festival Des and I wondered through the camp and joined our new friends around there fire for a few more drinks.
Santa was sweet but I’m not sure about the Alf, he looks a bit scarry.
The local kids take to the stage to show their tallent in a small country town.
If you want a feed these are the guys to see, thay are more than happy to take your money.
Aww, how cute, but also makes a nice lamb stew.π
The Mayor of Millmerran, Paul Antonio praise the voleenters for their work and effort put in to make this festival a success.
Minor Complication take to the stage to bring the town together for a night of entertainment.
But it was the fireworks that were the main attraction of the night and
I must say they were definitely spectacular.
I wander the grounds looking for that eye catching country item to catch my interest and I did find a few.
It's just a leaking tap but what a photo it makes and I even managed to capture the drip as it dropped to the ground.
An old shed always makes for a great shoot, it go'es to show just how old tree trunks can stand the test of time.
Take note of the van under cover.
I left my light at Glens place about a year ago and now it's the most travelled lighter in Queensland, it now goes everywhere with him meeting new friends along the way, talk about a motlet looking crew, I'm so jelous.
