20210720 Qld Mt Isa and Beyond
20210720 As we've been to Mt Isa before we only stopped for supplies, the town has an influx of vans coming in from the Big Red Bash, it seems all the town are having the same problem with all the caravan parks full, but there's an overflow area set up on the edge of town, we stopped for water but we're not keen to stay so after we finished our task, we drive to the lookout to see the new mural overlooking the town before heading to the Mt Isa Golf Club to camp the night.

Des in his element, this bring back memories when he was just a lad and he took his pet calf to school for show and tell, the boy in him still show's.
The calf is a pet, or so it seems as it roam the grounds of the golf club unperturbed with its surroundings or the balls that zoom past.
As you drive into Mt Isa the chimney stack are what first stands out, built with 200,000 bricks, no safety gear and cost about a quarter of a millions pounds at the time, the stacks are a large part of the town's history.
The lookout in Mt Isa offers a 360-degree panorama view of the city and mine area.
The Mural includes Lake Moondarra and local waterfalls, outback scenery - sunsets, rocky landscapes, spinifex, local birdlife and fish species.
As above
20210721 Des parked right behind the driving range, so we were woken by the sound of golfers hitting there balls outside our window, good move Des. There's no sleeping in this morning so after my morning tea in bed I was up and in to it. A couple beside us had a bit of excitement this morning, the wife of a camper kicked her husband out of the van abusing the hell out of him then proceeded to try to run him over, then every time he tried to hop in the car she would take off leaving him behind, she was an angry Mumma but it gave us a great morning laugh, and NO! it wasn't Des and I.
It's just turned 10:06am as we enter the Boulia Shire, Land of the Min Min Lights, it should be the mini roads as we pull over for oncoming traffic.
Free to roam, that's what I like to see, she's living the dream.
The Eagle and Crows cleaning up their back yard, there's no shortage of food supplies out here.
Room for one more, I think not.
Did you know that the wedge-tailed eagle is the largest bird of prey in Australia, I get so excited when I see one and actually capture a not so bad a shoot.
Someone's gone to a lot of trouble to create this sculpture in the middle nowhere, interesting to say the least.
Our scenery for the next 300ks, the colors out here are just awesome, I love it but to Des its just red dirt.
Some of our best night have been at the road side rest stop's, you should try it, get out your boom box, a bottle of wine and your set for a big night dancing around the red floor, there's nothing better.
It's not all doom and gloom, there are the occasional peaks that pop up along the way.
YA GOTTA LOVE THIS COUNTRY
