20200606 Qld Free to Travel Queensland

20200606 YAA! we're finally free, after being in lockdown for months Australians finally have the all clear to travel, but only within there own state, so we packed the van for a trip in and around Queensland.  Stopping for lunch at the Marburg Hotel, out first pub meal since the lockdown, gee how I've missed our lunch outings and being waited on once again, arr that’s right Mr Des is my permanent waiter.😉

With full bellies we head to Toowoomba along the Warrego motorway that now detours the hustle and bustle of the Toowoomba traffic and a much more pleasant drive.
As we near our turn off we pass under the new Brett Forte Bridge named after a Queensland police officer Brett Forte who was ambushed and shoot dead in 2017.

Once again we enjoy a great night sitting around the fire at Glen and Ingrid's listening to wonderful music and stuffing our faces with Glenn's smoked salmon, OMG I've had a craving for it ever since, but there was no cuddling our bid teddy bear this time😢😢.

07-06-2020 Glenn was up with the crows revving the shit out of his bike just to make sure we were still alive before heading to the Redlands to catch up with his brows, yes we can here you Glen.

After a quick shower we say our goodbyes to the lady of the house, Ingrid then head to Bowenville Camp grounds located alongside Oakey Creek for a few days.

We meet a couple, Terry and Michelle who've been camped up for three months due to Covid-19 and they certainly had a great set up with a huge supply of wood to last the winter and a fire pit fit for a king. Each afternoon we would see Pam and Fred with there chairs and drinks wander over for there happy hour drinks and trust me Des and I weren't far behind.

08-06-2020 I joined Machelle and her little dog for a 4k walk each morning and me, being the kind person I am taking Jenny the dog for a well needed walk, but as it turned out she dragged me along like a rag doll, this dog really needs a good run.

10-06-2020 Well its time to hit the road but as I gaze out the door there was Jenny the dog looking at me with those big brown eyes wagging her tail just waiting for me to take her walking, arr, poor Jenny.

The road out was under repair as we waited for the pilot driver to lead the way even though there are stop and go light set up, talk about wasting the tax payers money.

If that isn't bad enough, at each light there's a person watching the lights go from red to green while on his mobile, wtf.
Back on the highway we pass the town of Warra surrounded by hectares of Sorghum and did you know around 60% of the crop is grown in Queensland taken three to four months to mature.

QUEENSLAND HERE WE COME
