20190518 Heading to Jundah along patches of narrow, straight roads while taken in the scenery. In the centre of the channel Country lays the little town of Jundah whose name comes from the aboriginal word for, woman. Gazetted as a town in the 1880’s and was important for opal mining for 20 years, but the lack of water caused the mines to close.
Jundah backs onto the Mitchell River and we were told its abundance in yabbies.
The welcome sign as we enter the town of Jundah replicates the history of the shop front still to be seen in the main street.

I quickly hold up my camera to snap a fly by shoot of the eagle lunching on some Roo meat. This is the second one we’ve seen but the first to actually get a photo.

We did intend to stay but as is was still early so we opted to move onto Stonehenge where there's also camping with hot showers.
