20150913 WA Bordon to Lake Grace

20150913  After we left Albany we drove through the Stirling Range to Borden about 100ks passing the bright yellow fields of canola and Mt Trio along the way.

Mt Trio as we pass her, not bad for a drive by shoot, sorry I can't lie I down loaded the photo.

The town consist of a general store and the local Pub but this hedge was worth a mention, it is a Rosemary hedge, what a great idea.

We went to the pub for a coldie and as you enter this sign hits you in your face, sorry Des but no stupid people aloud,  he! he!.
An unusual plant I found in the garden but I don’t know what it is.

14-09-2015 Heading to Lake Grace and the scenery along the way is just stunning with the thousands upon thousands of acres of wheat, barley and canola, you certainly know you are in the granite belt and we were told Western Australia produce 30% of the nation’s wheat.  Sheep seem to be the main live stock in this part of W.A and the only tall buildings you see are silos which makes a nice change.

I managed a fly by shoot of the pretty pink lake as we drive past and there seams to be a lot of lakes in this area.

Ever time we pass a grey nomads you get a wave so of cause you wave back and apparently so do the people in this area but you have to wave safely.

The Lake Grace Hotel, this lovely old Queensland style hotel dominates the town and the outside looks better than the inside.

This is the main streets of Lake Grace and in most of these towns the streets are much wider, I'm guessing it was to accommodate the wagons in the old days.

We have seen some very unusual sculpture traveling around and this one made out of cans cut of at the top and threaded through a wire caught my attention, very cleaver I thought.

This is all Heather's fault, every time I see a bloody chair I make Des take a photo with me on it, but this is a nice chair.

As you walk the streets there are history plaques of the town that line the streets and this one caught my eye.

You gotta love the history of these old towns and how they all began.

This mural depicts the history of the town, $30 thousands to have it touched up, any one wat a job.
