20250414 Madrid Spain Metropolitan Stadium

20250414 Another full schedule as the boys head into training at a FC facility where the Spanish team often play. After training the teams visit another museum where once again the boys get spoiled. Then at 4pm we depart for a friendly game at the Polideportivo Las Matas sports facility, a municipal sports complex in Madrid known for its multipurpose pavilion that supports various sports and social activities. It was built to meet the growing demand for sports and recreational spaces in the area. The facility includes a large sports court, locker rooms, a lobby, a cafeteria, and multipurpose rooms.

Another training session done and dusted.

La Ciudad del Fútbol (The Football City), the headquarters and training facility of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The large banner on the building features Luis Aragonés, a legendary Spanish football coach and player.

Luis Aragones, architect of Spain's soccer dominance, dies aged 75, he led the team to Euro 2008 triumph, their first major title for 44 years, kick-starting an unprecedented run of success for the nation.

Hamish with the FIFA World Cup trophy, one of the most iconic and recognisable trophies in the world of sports.

BMW 503 Cabriolet, a luxurious grand tourer produced by BMW from 1956 to 1959, only 413 units of the 503 were built, with 139 being convertible coupe, making it a rare and highly sought-after classic today.

Spain is one of only eight countries ever to have won theFIFA World Cup, doing so in South Africa in 2010, the first time the team had reached the final,
Raúl Albiol wore Jersey 22.

We arrive at the sports complex all excited one of the mums from the Spanish team said  there boys are very excited about playing a team from Australia and I’m sure our boys were equally excited.

The Queensland team played first and omg I swear my blood pressure skyrocketed. Queensland scored within the first 10 minutes and the parents cheered and jumped up and down. Both teams played an amazing game with Queensland winning 6-4, well done boys. Now it’s Sydney turn and at half time the scores 2-0, locals favour but we are still hoping. The locals are in front 2-0 then NSW scored a try but unfortunately the home team won, 4-1.

After the game we are loaded back onto the bus and head to the Metropolitan Stadium for a live LaLiga game, Atlético Madrid versus Valladolid, the weather has turned and it’s bloody freezing but we brave the cold and head to gate 15 where we all meet before finding our seats.

The group come together for that memorable photo at the live game in Madrid.

Check out this bunch of Monkeys, Fox is always the clown and Jeffery play the roll of a little dude, but they are all our mighty super heroes.

Aww our beautiful Mal, one of the Mums and me posing for a pic.

Someone’s happy to be at a live game. Mum and son at  Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid, another special memory they will never forget and someone got spoiled with his new scarf and beanie for the game.
Please don’t ask me to name them all because I wouldn’t have a clue 🤷‍♀️

Wow! The house is packed and the Cheers from the crowd is so exciting, I wish you could hear this stadium go off.

There’s some happy chappie’s ready for the game.

Atletico Madrid professional live game as we wait in anticipation for the teams to run on the field, it’s freezing but we tough it out to the end.

Let the game begin, talk about excitement plus, I don’t even follow soccer and even I was jumping out of my seat.

The score was 4-2 in Atletico favour and the atmosphere was explosive.

Wow, what a game, our adrenaline was racing as the whole stadium cheers.
