20230410 Qld Peaks Crossing, Harrisville to Boonah
With all my plants watered and general household duties completed we left Thornlands and headed to Boonah for a shed party at Ian and Sandy’s but not before we take a bit of a detour to Peaks Crossing so Des can check out the pub for peotential rides and a bit to eat while there. I went for a stroll to the creek out the back and just my luck I walked in dog shit, get a dog they say, NOT. After finding a hose I cleaned my shoes then went in search of the party house.
As we passed the Dugandan Hotel we spotted Dick sitting on the veranda, I’m thinking he had the same idea for lunch as we did.
We finally found the gate which was just as Ian had said, it was just after Flagstone Creek but it sure wasn’t 5 minutes from Boonah. Des found a flat spot to set up while I caught up with old friends and started chatting forgetting all about helping Des set up, aww well, ya get that.
Aww Little Blacky, he looks like such a happy Ram living in this wide open space, but only one Ram is needed to services up to 50 ewes.
Unfortunetly for Little Blacky drew the short straw.π
What was once Little Blacky is now prepet and ready to cook, YUM.
The help yourself bars is set up and ready to go, this could get messy.
Old mates having a deep and meaningful or reminiscing over days gone by.
The Reece sisters, Chris with little sis Wendy, watch that one with the two drinks in her hands, I’m pretty sure she’s trouble.
Well, what can I say Little Blacky certainly hit the spot, he was a tasty one.
Des pigging out on the crunchy bits.
And this is what's left of our Little Blacky, you did us proud.
I dont know about you but it sure looks like Sandy is about to serenade us, this could get a bit scary.π
They’re all quite while eating, lets see how long that last, apart from Linda who’s loves a pic or three.
A meal fit for a king, minus the Pee’s.π£
The team takes it on board for a group pic before we get too messy, it great to see so many old faces together once more.
It was great to see the Snake out and about, it’s sure been a while but it's a pity his slack misses didn't make the same effort, not happy Michelle.π
Ooo dear, it looks like that Heather is up to her old tricks again, look out Coxy she like a leg lick after a few drinks.
It look like Coxy has caught on and won't the favour returned, come on Heather fairs fair.
Check out Mel in background, ya gotta love his many expressions and I'm thinking Des and Paul are thinking the same.
The two Wendy's defently double trouble here.
This is what you call the old wine'o corner, maybe that's why our Gail creeped off early.π
I’m thinking this could be the old boys corner.
Coxy drags his heram out the back to check out the sunset over the mountains.
The boys love their toys, it must be interesting because they've been their for ever, it’s only a tractor.
The new shed getting christened and lets not forget the spiffy new cold room that kept Little Blacky chilled and ready to bake.
Love this sunset shoot with the old girls.
Wow, now that’s what I call a sunset, just beautiful.
It’s midnight and Sandy turns another year older, but you never disclose a woman’s age, was it 57 Sandy as we all sang a Happy Birthday.π
20230402 A great time was had by all, the beast was plentiful, the corn was juicy and the potatoes we soaked in butter and delicious, but sorry Sandy I hate pee’s. I don’t think I have ever eating such yummy tender lamb, it just melted in your mouth, so much that I even returned for seconds.
Well done Ian and Sandy, we are just a phone call away for the next Blacky kill.
Help yourself breakfast was set up on the veranda with tea and coffee for those needing to soak up that alcohol from all that Rum Liquor if you could pria it from Coxy’s hands, not to mention all the different types of yummy, Port, talk about the hostess with the mostest.
We can’t leave before the Birthday cake is cut, Happy Birthday to the birthday girls.π
Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you.
I must say this lot looks mighty cherrpy but then again some did crash quite early.
Dave and Ian having a good old chat while taken in the view.
It’s always great to catch up with long time old mates and meet new friends.
Greg (cookie) checking out his Jeep before hitting the road.
Well look who finally decided to join us, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a sore head after hogging all the rum Liqeur.
The view from the back yard, well done Ian and Sandy, what a view to wake up to every day.
Thanks Guys for a Great Night
