20210629 Qld Mareeba
20210629 Turning up at Jeff and Moni's home in Mareeba for a few day to catch up with dear old mates, the last time we caught up with them was in 2012 when their kids were far from driving and were very adventures, now they both have a licence and doing the teenage thing. Mareeba, is the largest town on the Atherton Tablelands and it lies at the heart of the tableland's agricultural activities and is surrounded by coffee plantations, mango and paw paw farms, avocado farms, macadamia nut plantations as well as sugar cane fields and orchards specialising in pineapples, bananas and cashews.
Ok boys, up ya get and show me how this works, now just hold that pose until I get my camer set up, hold it, these clowns will do anything I ask.
I'm thinking Jeff should have been on the other side by the way he's leaning to the right.
WHOS THE FAT ONE
π
Now if Jeff jumps, Des will surley fall,
Jump Jeff Jump.π
There's somthing a miss with this photo, arr that's right there's a photo with the good the bad and the ugly together, so I'm guessing it's the good one who's missing.
Jeff cooks up a mean breakfast for us and we even got freshly squeezed oranges juice from a tree up the road, don't worry the house is up for sale and no one lives there.
20210701 Jeff and I went to the nursery to check out some plants and walked out with a box of goodies then we checked out the mens shed where he puts all his talents to good use, or so he says, next stop is life line were he brought a coffee cup then onto the coffee shop to check it out.
As you walk into the coffee shop the first thing that hits you is that reach aroma of coffee and chocolate before your mouth begins to water.
The Coffee Works in Mareeba sell a rang of gifts along with some delicious chocolates, coffee liqueurs and much more.
Back home and Des and I both started laughing watching Jeff planting some new petunia's in his garden, yep, he's come a long way from chasing pigs and Desie shitting in his boots.
Jeff and Monie's home in Mareeba.
Jeff's wheel on his wheelbarrow had a blow out so instead of wasting $60 on a new one he made a bogie one, but I must say it works really good.
The completed product, now it looks like a real relic.
Jeff takes great pride in his new found hobbie and his garden looks great, I especially love the colours scatted through out.
Back to the shed now for some serious mens work as Jeff endeavours to put together a fire pit, I'm not sure how much help Des was but it sure kept them entained for a while.
How could we refuse an invited for dinner with friends at the Altherton Internation Club and I have to say they make the best chinese we've had in a long time. We all ordered a meal that was shared by all and to my surprise the plates were all cleaned at the end and Jeff was happy to finish off the remaining desert. Great timing I have, ha Jeff, open, open.π
OMG, have you ever tried to do this excercise, it's bloody hard but Jeff's keen to show off his talent, mind you he did sand the ball off at the bottom making it a tad easier but it was still hard.
Yep, he's been doing this for a while, I'm buggered if I can do it.
20210702 Well it's time to move on but I think Jeff is keen for us to stay longer but Des is keen to hit the road so we say our goodbys and head to Ravenshoe.
I spotted this cemertary so we stopped to check it out, I'm assuming it's Italian because we all know how much money they like to waste on graves, but those little hut would make great cubby house's.
A toom fit for a family if that's your desire, personaly I think their a waste of space.
I can't imagin the cost of a toom like this, bloody expensive that's for sure but I for one would not like to be intombed, set me free.
SEE YA ALL AGAIN ONE DAY
IT WAS GREAT TO CATCH UP
