20200614 Qld Wallumbilla to Roma
20200614 Twenty Ks down the road is the town of Wallumbilla who cater for the likes of us with hot showers and powered sites for a $20 fee and we are certainly in need of a good wash after three days camping on the Lagoon.
17-06-2020 On our way to the Rock Pool just before Charleville where we stayed with Dick last year and hopefully it’s not too late for Des to catch some yabbies.
We nestled in for a few days so come on Des grab ya hat and start searching for some wood as we head out into the wilderness and drag home some wood. While Des cook’s dinner I start the fire and we settle in for the night under the stars while downing a few ales.
After breaky we stroll the grounds walking to the railway track searching for discarded railway spikes to make some hat racks, are your eye’s painted on I say as I pick up the one’s he misses, I think there’s a method in his madness these things are getting heavy.
After a shower we waddle down to the old Federal Hotel for a meal and the home of the Iron Jack add.
Waking to fog surrounding Wallumbilla so we take our time waiting for it to lift.
15-06-2020 Next stop Roma to catch up on some business before heading to the Rifle Range to catch up on some much needed washing. She’s a tad chilly so on goes the heater with a,“clunk, clunk” shit what’s wrong now, one more try and it’s still the same, lucky we have a back up heater.
16-06-2020 Des was up early as I knew he would looking for an air con repair in Roma, bugger me dead he found a bloody wasp had decided to build a nest on the fan, so $50 later we were on our way with a sigh of relief.
Driving through Amby onto Morven where the pub that burnt down in 2016 is finally getting rebuilt.
The group of eight local families has acquired the land and liquor licence, said they were excited to move the project forward and see the south west town's main street filled with businesses again so next time you pass Morven look out for the new Sadleir's Hotel.
The dam’s much deeper than the last time we were here.

Another sunny day in paradise as we lay in our cosy van reading or in Desies case doing his word search, "ha" where’s my cuppa?

Fun on the railway track, you wouldn’t be doing this in the city.
Be warned, the new Rangers hit outback Queensland, if you do the crime be sure you will do the time.😅
OMG! look what just strolled into our camp, a couple of fluffy chickens, how the hell have they survived out here?
I’ve been wanting to cook a dinner in the coals for ever but Des is a bit skeptical, well talk about yummy, so much so we brought some large alfoil trays for our next fire.
We love our camping around a fire.
Our little fluffy chick turns up for a morning snack but where's your mate?
