20120322 NSW Stanwell-Sea Cliff Bridge

20120322 Said our good buys & headed to Stanwell Park to check out a bridge build on the cliff of the mountain "Sea Cliff Bridge" you could walk the full length if you wanted to, we walked some, that was enough for us.

Where the old highway once was now fenced off.

The Sea Cliff Bridge is a balanced cantilever bridge located in the northern Illawarra region of New South Wales. The $52 million bridge links the coastal villages of Coalcliff and Clifton and is a feature of the scenic Lawrence Hargrave Drive

Sea Cliff Bridge now weighs slightly more than it did four years ago - thanks to the growing number of padlocks that have been attached to its rails.

In celebration of Valentine's Day, marriages, and dozen other lovers, families and groups who are marking important dates by adding a padlock to the bridge and throwing the keys into the sea below.
Illawarra's most famous bridge now joins the Eiffel Tower and other prominent landmarks around the world in becoming a place where people can express the bonds of love, I thought about doing the same with Des only my thought was to throw him over & keep the key.
