20150728 WA Carnarvon to Coronation Beach

Image
20150728 After checking out Carnarvon where we finally got to buy some fresh prawns for the first time on our trip we found a sports ground with a tap (very unusual) so of cause Des took advantage and washed the van.   I’ll need your help said Des, sure I said as he climbs on top of the fan, dunk the broom in the bucket and pass it up to me he said, why didn’t you take the bucket up with you, how am I going to carry that up there full, why didn’t you fill it up there, I never thought of that, Ge! It’s not rocket science Des, don’t be smart Lee, it’s called, looking outside of the circle Des, Daa!.   I also took advantage and washed our cloths and in between helping Des I washed my hair, we’re on a roll Des, we could camp here, and once all our chores were completed we had a nanny nap waiting to see if we might get kicked out but all was good. We woke to a morning of fog and had to wait till it cleared which never bother us. We stopped at Edaggee Rest Area for the night an...

20150724 WA Coral Bay to Point Quobba

Image
20150724  Coral Bay only had a population of 1,100, it is one of the smallest towns in Australia, and is rated the third most popular region in Western Australia with overseas tourists, we were also told to live there you need to have a job. Unfortunately for us it was over cast and drizzling which takes away the real appeal of this beautiful part of the coast line. Some guys turned up to clean there fish when this one caught my eye, now I could be wrong but I think he told me it was a Cobia. 25-07-2015  Point Quobba: I have to say this is a beach with a different twist, certainly not what you would expect to find on a coast line. This part of the coast line so far is so untouched by modern man and hidden away from the world, if only it could stay like this for ever. Point Quobba was one of the highlights of this trip, the variation of the turquoise water is just breathtaking. You can’t imagine the amazement when we looked out to ...

20150718 WA Exmouth

Image
20150718 As we entered Exmouth on the Ningaloo Coast the first thing that jumped out at us was the new canal development which to me is not very appealing when you a situated on a beautiful coast line.  The town centre is relatively new with no history and uninteresting but it did meet our need to gather a few items.         Arr the catch of the day and he doesn't even like fishing, you can't catch fish like that back home and going by some photos posted in the area of fish we think it is a Coral Trout and Estuary Cod.  Sorry Des I can't lie, he dug them out of the bin, and NO not to eat, even though it wouldn't surprise me, he kept them for bate to catch some crabs, hopefully.   Walking along the beach just out of town contemplating weather to take a chance and stay the night, will we, wont we, but while we were there the police had turned up twice, maybe not.  Des questioned a guy cleaning fish we...
